About RyanI am an assistant professor at Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York. In addition to courses on quantitative analysis, sociological and criminological theory, and introductory courses, I teach upper-level courses on white collar crime, sociology of the environment, and the sociology of conspiracy theories.
After receiving a BA in Sociology and English at Pacific Lutheran University, and serving for two years in AmeriCorps in Tacoma, Washington, I earned my MA and PhD at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, with a dissertation on the effects of US political corruption on voter turnout and citizen trust. My research has appeared in journals such as Crime, Law and Social Change; Sociological Perspectives; and Voluntas, among others. |
